Cultural Digital #045 - award season
Cultural Digital
Hello
This week there are things to play with, more chat about What's On listings, digitised archives, and a whole bunch of award nominations. First up, something pretty…
White Canvas is "an immersive audiovisual installation created by Cocolab" and was presented at Tag CDMX 2016 in Mexico.

I was getting a bit bored of the whole VR/360 video thing, but Rhomaleosaurus: Back to Life in Virtual Reality from the Natural History Museum, Google and Framestore is good.
States of Matter is a "celebration of the brand new Tate Modern building" and it features Sigur Rós.
Erica Scourti: Empathy Deck. A commission for the Wellcome Collection, @empathydeck is a bot with feelings that will "respond to your tweets with unique empathy cards".
The Science Museum got Preloaded to rebuild Launchball, a very popular game, for them. It's good.
Why the Hammer Museum's new free digital archives are a game changer. "The project goes beyond just creating a bells-and-whistles exhibition website. The archive features important essays generated by the show, links to outside coverage, as well as documentation, photography and other research material'.
MoMA have digitised their exhibition archive and put it online. Congrats to Michelle Elligott and Fiona Romeo there. You can see the archive here.
National Museums Scotland ask "How do you create an online events page that suits the needs of your organisation and your users?" in Rethinking What’s On: Online events listings at National Museums Scotland.

If this newsletter ever comes out later than intended (like this week) it's because I'm busy working with really good cultural organisations on projects involving digital analytics, user testing, optimisation and all sorts of other things. Visit One Further for more on that.
